In cases where a tooth’s root has not fully developed and the pulp has died, Apexification offers a way forward. This procedure helps stimulate the formation of a calcified barrier at the tip of the root, allowing us to seal the root canal effectively. It’s most often used in adolescent patients with immature permanent teeth.
Although the root will no longer grow, Apexification provides the foundation needed to stabilize and protect the tooth for the long term.
